Jerry hides in a wardrobe from a masked killer, in a dark room where any noise gives the hiding place away. Most of the story reaches you through 24 designed sounds, from recorded breaths and footsteps to synthesized wind.
I directed and shot the film, and I documented where each sound came from and where it sits in the final mix. Watch it with sound on.
The storyboard. We drew its twelve panels and listed a sound for each one before we recorded or filmed anything. The full mix on its own, 30 seconds, as exported from Audacity. Listen without the picture to hear how much of the story the sound carries.
Music: "Anxiety" and "The Dread" by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. All other sounds are the team's own.

Sentences drift across a page and turn toward your hand, which the camera tracks but never shows. The more sentences reach you, the slower your drawn hand follows, and shaking loosens them but never all the way.
The video is a screen recording. The piece itself runs in the browser with a camera, a mouse or a finger.
AI use: an AI coding assistant wrote the base code and the maths. I designed the behaviour and the look, and wrote 37 of the 45 sentences.

Individual work
I broke ceramic plates with a hammer, photographed the pieces with real roses under an off-camera flash, and built a crying 3D eye from a photo of my own eye.
The piece treats the moment a plate breaks as the moment a hidden sadness becomes visible.
